C.J. Peek, Ph.D.

C.H Peek received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University Colorado where he studied with Dr. Peter G. Ossorio, founder of the discipline of Descriptive Psychology. C.J. is 2009-2010 President of the Society for Descriptive Psychology. He is an Associate Professor with the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota Medical School, focusing on care system development, integration of behavioral and medical care, organizational effectiveness, and leadership development. He has facilitated multiple stakeholder dialogue in state and national meetings on the integration of behavioral and medical care, implementation of patient-centered medical home, and addressing behavioral risk factors in primary care. He writes, presents, and consults on integrated behavioral and medical care, patient-clinician communication, productive conversations and dialogue across disciplines or organizational areas—blending clinical, organizational, and leadership perspectives.
Richard L. Heinrich, M.D.

Richard L. Heinrich, M.D. is the Medical Director of HealthPartners Hospice of the Lakes and Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota. He is also Head of the Geriatric Psychiatry Consultation Service, which provides consultation to HealthPartners primary care teams caring for residents in long term care settings in over 80 nursing homes in the Minneapolis-St Paul 7 metro county area. Dr. Heinrich specializes in end of life care and serves on the HealthPartners Ethics Committee and Consultation service, having completed a masters degree in bioethics at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is interested in applying Descriptive Psychology concepts to enhance competent health care and care giving at end of life and for ill persons and their families as they live with chronic illness.
