Healthcare Applications
I'm C. J. Peek, the Center Director, and my job here is to lead and facilitate our inquiry into healthcare applications of Descriptive Psychology. I invite you to participate.
The Center for Healthcare Applications of Descriptive Psychology (HADP) is a community of people interested in advancing healthcare, healthcare systems, and health in part through the application of Descriptive Psychology concepts and tools.
This community is drawn from:
- Healthcare clinicians, administrators, leaders, educators, system designers, and policyshapers whose healthcare work is significantly informed by the discipline of Descriptive Psychology.
- Those who would like their healthcare work to be informed by Descriptive Psychology and who have their own projects, problems, or applications in mind.
- Descriptive Psychology experts who supply ideas, suggestions, or consultation to those participating in the Center, so that the best of Descriptive Psychology can be brought to bear.
We engage in on-going dialogue on how to describe, lead and change healthcare practice and healthcare system design with emphasis on how Descriptive Psychology concepts can make characteristically difficult problems or tasks clearer and easier—to open new paths forward that release energy in “stuck” areas. We have an abiding interest in the "craft" involved in implementing concepts in real situations. You can find out more about our areas of application here.
The Center is comprised of Associates, Participants, and Friends:
- Friend: Anyone who visits our website is a Friend, and is welcome to browse the site and read our published papers.
- Associate: Dialogues are created by Center Associates, and are open to Participants for viewing and response. View Associates here.
As Center Director, I moderate Center dialogues, engage new Associates (who may also moderate dialogues), and help pull in other Descriptive Psychology expertise as needed.
